COMBINED CHOIRS HANDBELLS RINGING AT PERTH CONCERT HALL, SUNDAY 11 JUNE 2023

Our recent unique handbell ringing performance was a collaboration of four WA handbell choirs – Enchanted Bells, Handbells in Peel and two handbells choirs from Northern Lights Music WA Community Orchestra – North (Heathridge) and South (Warnbro). We entertained patrons at one of Perth’s premier musical entertainment venues and the home of the West Australia Symphony Orchestra - Perth Concert Hall. The handbell choirs’ eclectic repertoire included Austria, Song of Joy, Skye Boat Song, Frere Jacques, Ash Grove, Oh Dear What Can the Matter Be, Wiggly Worm, Royal Oak and Edelweiss.

Performance arrangements were made by Enchanted Bells, Kelvin and Carol Davis, who were singing in the 1,000 voice choir event on the evening of Sunday 11 June 2023. The combined handbell choir performed on the Level 2 foyer stage at Perth Concert Hall prior to the Born to Sing 1000 concert. For many of the ringers in the Northern Lights Music handbell choirs, this was their first public performance.

JennyLynne Andrews, from Northern Lights, conducted our combined handbell choir for the 45 minute performance. The appreciative audience grew as more patrons arrived and awaited admission to the Perth Concert Hall to take their seats for the Born to Sing concert.
